The following results are the unofficial tabulations updated by Alaska’s Division of Elections at 3:13 a.m. on Nov. 6. While most precincts have reported their votes, the numbers will change slighly over the next few days as absentee, questioned and some early-voting ballots are tabulated. In a number of close contests, this could change the final outcomes and trigger ranked-choice runoffs in races where no candidate earns more than 50% of the first round of votes.

The former – and now future President Donald Trump – easily won Alaska by defeating Kamala Harris, 55.6% to 40.4%. This was part of a national movement in which Trump won in a landslide across the country.

Key races to watch include Nick Begich vs. Rep. Mary Peltola, where Begich currently has 49.6% of the vote. If he reaches 50% plus one, he will be the outright winner. That race has 93% of precincts reporting.

Another close contest is Ballot Measure 2, which aims to repeal ranked-choice voting and return Alaska to its traditional party primaries and election system. Currently the measure is narrowly passing, 50.9% to 49%. However, there are still 7% of districts not yet reporting results.

It looks like a number of races for the State House and Senate are headed to ranked-choice runoffs. One race, which generated considerable attention, seems to be settled. That’s the contest between Rep. David Eastman and challenger Jubilee Underwood. Underwood enjoys a 51% to 47.6% lead with 100% of precincts reporting.
