On April 2, a group of pro-life Alaskans plan to hold a rally outside the Anchorage Planned Parenthood abortion center. The gathering is planned to occur on the same day the U.S. Supreme Court considers whether South Carolina and other states have the right to exclude Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses from receiving taxpayer dollars through Medicaid.

South Carolina is seeking to restore its ban on funneling Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood, but the case could have ramifications nationwide.

In 2018, South Carolina’s Republican Gov. Henry McMaster issued an executive order to end all Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood, under the belief that taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to subsidize abortions.

Given Planned Parenthood’s heavy reliance on taxpayer funding to underwrite the killing of pre-born babies, a ruling in South Carolina’s favor could be devastating to the abortion industry leader.

According to Planned Parenthood’s most recent annual report the company committed nearly 400,000 abortions in 2023, while raking in nearly $700 million in government grants and reimbursements.

The Anchorage rally will go from 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, outside the Planned Parenthood on Lake Otis Blvd. The event will include sign waving, special speakers, music and prayer. It is one of many rallies that will be taking place that day across the nation.

Hope the case is decided to defund Planned Parenthood and that begins the end of paying for abortions.

You know how anti LGBT types complain about the LGBT views shoved down our throats? That’s what this is – forcing the rest of us to endure your anti abortion mythology.

    • Steve says:

Not all you are forced, not the unborn, but to you they don’t count! What you’d prefer is for all of us to pay for abortions, so who’s forcing whom to endure?

Nothing good ever originates in South Carolina. :/

Last week residents of the Kenai Peninsula registered to hold a defund Planned Parenthood protest in Soldotna, at the Soldotna “Y”, nearest to the Walgreens along the Sterling Highway, Wednesday, April 2 from 5 PM to 6:30 PM. I encourage all to contact Begich, Murkowski, and Sullivan frequently to let them know we want the feds to pull the plug on PP funding. You must also do the same on the state level, contact your district representative and senator to demand they pull the plug on funding of PP and publicly funded abortions on the state level. If PRO-ABORTS want abortion then let them fund it themselves. The rest of us do not want blood on our hands. See you at the protest!
