Gov. Mike Dunleavy announced the resignation of Adam Crum, Commissioner of the Department of Revenue, effective August 8, 2025.
“Commissioner Crum has been an exemplary leader whose unwavering dedication and innovative approach have significantly benefited Alaskans,” Dunleavy stated on July 25. “During his time leading both the Department of Health and Social Services and the Department of Revenue, Adam consistently prioritized Alaska’s economic well-being, public health, and fiscal stability.”
Crum served as Commissioner of Health and Social Services during the Covid-19 outbreak, and most recently as Commissioner of Revenue – managing the state’s fiscal resources.
There has been speculation Crum may join the crowded race of Republican candidates who are running for governor in 2026, but he has not made any public announcements about his plans.
