Families across the Anchorage area are invited to step back in time and celebrate the enduring values of faith, family, and freedom at “America Comes Alive – 250th Anniversary 4th of July Celebration,” hosted by Mountain City Church on Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5.
The free, family-friendly event will take place from 12-6 p.m. at the church (6401 East Northern Lights Blvd).
Organizers describe it as a journey through America’s rich history, highlighting the nation’s founding principles as it marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Special guest Pastor Rob McCoy, co-founder of TPUSA Faith, former mayor of Thousand Oaks, California, and senior pastor emeritus of Godspeak Calvary Chapel, will join the festivities. McCoy is widely recognized for his passionate messages on faith, biblical citizenship, and America’s Christian heritage.

Highlights of the two-day event:
— A live reading of the Declaration of Independence.
— Readings of Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address and Second Inaugural Address.
— A living history experience featuring a historical museum with period artifacts and historians in authentic attire.
— Civil War stories bringing real people and events from America’s past to life.
— Screenings of the inspiring videos “Road to Liberty” and “Story of America” in a dedicated seating area.
— A classic car show showcasing vintage vehicles.
— Giveaways and prizes throughout the day.
— Free food.
The church emphasizes that the event is open to the public and designed for all ages.
