The Alaska Family Council has just released its list of preferred candidates in the upcoming Nov. 3 general election.
In addition to endorsing 39 candidates for the State Legislature, the endorsement urges Alaskans to vote “yes” on Ballot Measure 2 to end ranked-choice voting and to vote “yes” on Ballot Measure 3 to ensure that only U.S. citizens can vote in Alaska elections.
The endorsement also backs the reelection of both U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan and U.S. Congressman Nick Begich.
In the governor’s race, Alaska Family Council did not recommend just one GOP candidate but urged voters to rank all three Republicans on the ballot – Bernadette Wilson, Dave Bronson and Treg Taylor.
The three GOP candidates are running against hard-left Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins, who is backed by groups that favor expanding abortion and pushing the LGBTQ agenda. Alaska Family Council asks voters to not rank Kreiss-Tomkins at all.
“Endorsements are made not because any candidate is perfect,” Alaska Family Council said of its picks. “Some are endorsed because they responded positively to our Values Voter Guide survey … Some are endorsed because knowledge we have indicates they will be an ally although they didn’t fill out our survey. Some are endorsed because we know they will advocate more effectively than their opponent. In every case, we are endorsing to ensure that pro-family, prolife policies will be most strongly represented.”
