Highly controversial Anchorage Assemblyman Felix Rivera appears headed to victory in his effort to keep his spot on the Assembly.

The latest election update from April 8 shows voters rejecting the recall attempt 4,653 to 3,417. A total of just 8,070 votes have been counted so far, and there are a few thousand more still to be accounted for, but Rivera’s nearly 1,200 vote lead puts him in solid position to retain his seat.

Last year, organizers behind the recall effort gathered more than 5,000 signatures to put Rivera up for recall with many expecting a solid turnout to oust the controversial assembly chair. That has not materialized.

the (special interest groups) love Rivera and they vote…… plus the election was likely fixed so this is what you get. Anchorage is too far down the sh?t hole, no coming back. Anchorage residents will be getting what they deserve, enjoy……

I still like shopping in Anchorage where the home owners pick up my (sales) tax!

Mail in ballots in Anchorage have been the downfall since 2018. I have no doubt the lame excuse for the stopped counting last night shows it’s still pay to play in A-Town. Anchorage residents should ask for a forensic audit.

No way Rivera won legally the poll workers are corrupt just like Anchorage politicians and state politicians, go along to get along that is the Alaska politicians. Less than 10 true Christian conservatives in Alaska political realm.

Anchorage will suffer and the idiots who sat back and did nothing will reap what they sow. Enjoy your communist city because you earned it!

His voters absolutely love him. LOVE HIM. Well, they deserve him. Let him wither away their opportunities and relocate droves of homeless delinquents onto their neighborhood sidewalks! They keep showing that they don’t mean it when they say this city needs to change. They love what he’s done for them. I witnessed this first hand when I gathers sigs for this recall. Door to door discussions with citizens who took it personally that we were trying to recall him. He’s sick. He represents them. So what does that say about them? It’s a sad, sad, sad world we’re living in right now. But no matter how hard I’ve tried, I just can’t fix stupid.
