A tense exchange broke out during the Alaska House floor session on April 12 when Rep. David Eastman (R-Wasilla) introduced a measure meant to convey that the House was opposed to mandatory vaccines in Alaska.
Eastman introduced a Sense of the House stating, “No person in Alaska should be required to obtain a COVID 19 vaccine for any reason.”
After a six minute at ease, House Speaker Louise Stutes (R-Kodiak) said she decided to refer the Sense of the House to three committees – Health and Human Services, Judiciary, and Regional Affairs, which effectively blocked the proposal from being voted on or debated.
Eastman rose again and moved to discharge the Sense of the House from the first committee (HHS) to allow discussion and a vote on the floor.
Rep. Ivy Spohnholz (D-Anchorage) objected, claiming that Eastman’s Sense of the House was an attempt to “legislate on the floor.” Tuck also objected saying, “the Sense of the House is not supposed to be used this way.”
Eastman then pointed out that a Sense of the House has “no legal binding benefit. It is simply an opinion of the members of this body. There can be no benefit of sending this to a committee at this time because it defeats the purpose of allowing the body to have this discussion and to have an opinion.”
Stutes then asked the House members whether the Sense of the House should be discharged from the HHS committee. The majority of House members voted to keep the Sense of the House in committee, thereby ending any debate, discussion or vote on the measure.

The vaccine in an Emergency vaccine, has not been clinically triled, has not been FDA approved (other than for Emergency use) and therefore, under Federal Law, CANNOT be mandated. But laws are only for us peasants.

Minimum 2 years from January 2021. This is because this was when they commenced trials on pregnant women and children. They have to complete phase I and II clinical before release to public, where phase III trials are conducted.
This gives the legislature enough time to lay the ground work: 1) remove religious exemption, 2) set up a DHSS review board for medical exemptions. Look to California’s SB 277 and subsequent lawsuits for the model. Playbook has been written.

This appears to have become a free speech issue. If so-called Republican is leading the shut down of discussion then she and other Democrats/Marxists are shutting discussion down but it was OK to argue about masks for a long time in the legislature.
