We, like many others, suspected this all along, but the Anchorage School District has now made it painfully obvious. All the talk about rooting out systemic racism and ushering in a new age of tolerance and open-mindedness was really just a case of bait-and-switch.

If the latest employee training program at the Anchorage School District is any indication, the entrenched bureaucrats who run public education actually ascribe wholeheartedly to systemic racism (that which is built into the system).

The district is offering a development course that helps its employees rise through the ranks of leadership by creating a pool of qualified applicants who can become future administrators. That’s not a bad idea, except that in order to participate you must be a “person of color.” Whites are not invited to take part in the employee development scheme because of the color of their skin.

For those familiar with critical race theory, this should not come as a surprise. Critical race theory categorizes people on the basis of their race, skin color and ethnicity, making blanket stereotypes based on these characteristics, which are then used to exclude people from certain benefits.

The idea is that whiteness has already bestowed ample historical advantages, and these people should not be treated with the same deference shown to those who have more pigmented skin tones.

This is the very height of racism, and it should be repugnant to the educational leaders at the Anchorage School District. Regrettably, it is actively encouraged on the public dime.
