Influential “detransitioner” Chloe Cole, who is headed to Alaska in August, spoke before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee last week about the barbaric practice of sexually “transitioning” children so they can appear as the opposite sex.

Cole, who will give presentations in Wasilla (Aug. 16) and Anchorage (Aug. 18), warned D.C. lawmakers that providing mutilating surgeries and cross-sex hormones to gender-confused children creates “lifelong, irreversible harm.”

Cole’s July 27 testimony recalled her prior gender transition treatments, which she said almost killed her.

She recounted her personal experience of feeling like she was born in the wrong body, a delusion that was affirmed by doctors, who frightened and pressured her parents into letting her take puberty blockers at age 12, claiming she might commit suicide if they didn’t acquiesce.

By age 13, she had her first testosterone injection, which permanently lowered her voice and masculinized her basic bone structure and Adam’s apple.

Cole said that by 15, she had undergone a double mastectomy, which left massive scars on her chest. At 16, she regretted what had happened to her, and even became suicidal. While she’s doing much better now, Cole admitted that, at times, she still feels “like a monster.”

In truth, Cole told lawmakers that what she really needed at the time was genuine love, compassion, and therapy, not powerful hormones and mutilating surgeries.

Cole pleaded with elected representatives to pass legislation to definitively end what she called the “barbaric pseudoscience” of child sex transitions.

“I hope that you will have the courage to bring this scandal to an end so that other vulnerable teenagers, children and young adults don’t go through what I went through,” she said. “My childhood was ruined, along with thousands of detransitioners that I know through our networks. This needs to stop.”

Alaska is one of many states where children can be given puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and even counseling and referrals for surgical mutilations. Alaska’s Medicaid program underwrites these practices with taxpayer funds.

Many studies, however, reveal that the vast majority of children suffering from gender dysphoria outgrow the mental disorder by adolescence.
