Youth write pro-life chalk messages on the sidewalk outside the Anchorage Planned Parenthood clinic on Oct. 20.

Armed with colorful chalk and a passion to save unborn babies from abortion, a group of Alaska youth created pro-life signs on the public sidewalks surrounding the Anchorage Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.

A litany of messages aimed at encouraging women and affirming the life of their unborn child were prominently displayed outside Alaska’s most active abortion center on Oct. 20.

The colorful messages and images included the following sayings:

“Women need love, not abortion.”

“Everyone deserves a chance.”

“We can love both.”

“A person’s a person, no matter how small.”

The pro-life “Chalk Day” was part of the ongoing 40-Days for Life campaign, which is taking place in Anchorage and hundreds of cities around the world.

Joined by several adults, the Anchorage students included nearly two dozen children who spent nearly an hour drawing loving pro-life messages along the entire length of the sidewalks, from one entrance of Planned Parenthood to the other.

According to 40-Days for Life local organizer Mary Kemper, the students hope to host more chalk days in the future.

Youth write pro-life chalk messages on the sidewalk outside the Anchorage Planned Parenthood clinic on Oct. 20.

“There are many powerful, good things that come from the effort,” Kemper said. “One is that while only an hour might be spent on the sidewalk, our messages remain until someone works to remove them or for as long as the weather allows.”

40 Days for Life continues until Nov. 5 with many slots open throughout the week. Kemper encouraged pro-life Alaskans to sacrifice some time in order to advance the pro-life cause.

“Ours are definitely sacrifices – we are all busy, and it’s cold outside, and we rarely get to enjoy the fruit of our sacrifices,” she said in an email to supporters. “But the mothers who are tempted to abort their babies and then choose life, along with the fathers who support them, make a sacrifice that most of us cannot comprehend. Let us stand up for those women and for the babies they carry. Let us pray and work for life!”

Well done youngins , good on you to get your thoughts heard! Hears a hint about our state right now. Dunleavy your governor is not prolife! I repeat dunleavy your governor is not prolife! He’s a liar and that is the truth! Check it out his own division of health and human services funds abortion on demand! It’s true. A portion of what you make asking people in the drive through if they would like fries with that goes directly to fund abortion and that is completely under Mike Dunleavy direction!

It’s really great to see our youth now days working for a true cause. Thank you to them all. Now if that carries over into adulthood think of the positive impact it will have. We all will win. I’ll say again great job young people. Keep up the outstanding job. The message will get through. GOD, works through all our actions.

    Encouraging!

Haven’t you all been praying to end abortion for many decades? What’s the hold up on god’s end?

    • DaveMaxwell says:

Great question please ask Him for us!

    • Steven Chappell says:

Evil people like you that continue to take the life of an unborn child. Do us a favor pratice what you preach on ending life.

      • Lucinda says:

Steven. I’ve never said I am against or in favor of abortion. Not that I expect you to know that. There are ten thousand things more important in your day.

Despite being an overly educated progressive atheist and a strict adherent to the scientific method, I am obligated to be on the pro life side IF it is proved that a two celled blastocyst can be considered a human with full entitlement, no exceptions, then s/he has all the rights of an adult. The anti pro abortion issue hinges on the definition of human

      • AK Mom says:

Lucinda, from a scientific standpoint, tell me how many 2-called blastocysts are being aborted. Now go do some of that science and education stuff you’re so overtly proud of and tell me how many abortions are performed on individuals with a heartbeat and brainwaves. By the time women know they are pregnant, we are WAY beyond the 2-celled blastocyst phase. But of course, you know that. So you know your comment is intellectually dishonest.
Do they teach “how to be a vile human being” in undergrad or grad school? I missed that class in college.

The David Bereit Show and Protect Women Ohio had a webcast this evening on the topic of “America’s Defining Battle for Life in 2023: How to Stop the State by State Spread of Abortion”
Really good information and action steps that we can take to help Ohio in the next two weeks against the proabortion groups. Good information for every other state also. Please share.

So proud of these young people!! Need to target protests in front of Walgreens too. I verified that the Wasilla Walgreens and Soldotna Walgreens is dispensing abortion pills. There are several locations in Anchorage. They all need to be called. Talk to the pharmacist in the pharmacy dept. We should be calling the Walgreens pharmacies that are dispensing pills to protest, incessantly ! And boycott them, PLEASE!
