On April 4, presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. will be a guest on The Talk of the Kenai, heard on KSRM Radio 92 and 92.5 FM, and online at www.radiokenai.com.

The station serves the central and southern Kenai Peninsula communities, and is heard in Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley. It airs Monday-Friday, 3–5 p.m.

Kennedy will be on the show Thursday, April 4, from 3:15-4 p.m. for an interview with host Bob Bird.

Bird has been Chairman of the Alaskan Independence Party since 2020, and has been at the mic on the afternoon talk show for over seven years. He was a candidate for the US Senate in 1990 in the Republican primary against Ted Stevens, taking 34,000 votes against Stevens’ 81,000, and again in 2008 as a member of the AIP. Stevens’ narrow loss to Democrat Mark Begich that year is attributed to Bird’s presence on the ticket.

Kennedy’s recent vice-presidential pick Nicole Shanahan will be discussed, as well as how Kennedy’s ticket, now top-heavy in environmental reputation, will affect Alaska’s resource development. Bird will also quiz how a Kennedy presidency will deal with abortion, the Jones Act, border security, weaponization of the Justice Department, digital currency, Indian Health and VA Services and the 90/10 revenue split promised Alaska at statehood.

The Alaskan Independence Party came into existence because of the 1980 Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act [ANILCA], which prevented resource development on nearly all federal lands. This consists of about 65% of the state. That year Alaskan voters approved a citizen initiative that read: “Shall the Alaska Statehood Commission be convened to study the status of the people of Alaska within the United States and to consider and recommend appropriate changes in the relationship of the people of Alaska to the United States?”

The AIP maintains that in 1958, by treaty obligation in the U.N. Charter, the U.S. was obliged to grant Alaska and Hawaii the same options as it had offered to Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines and the Virgin Islands: territory, statehood, commonwealth or independence.

No presidential candidate, nor Alaskan Governor nor state legislature nor either of the two major parties have ever pushed for this claim. The AIP believes that the 1980 initiative demonstrated that the people of Alaska called for it, and yet it was completely ignored.

The AIP believes that our economic troubles would be solved by the state making this claim, forcing the federal Congress to be more respectful of Alaska’s rights, and no longer treated as a second-class state.

Kennedy is also hopeful to be placed on the presidential ballot in Alaska under the AIP banner. “Kennedy’s courageous stand in the face of withering criticism during the Covid vaccine scam was ahead of its time,” Bird noted in a March 27 statement, “and reflected the libertarian values of our party.”

“The AIP has placed Constitution Party presidential candidates on the ballot before,” Bird noted. “Our upcoming convention should decide this matter on the floor, and therefore the radio appearance by Mr. Kennedy will help the delegates answer this vitally important question.”

The AIP convention is scheduled for Fairbanks on Saturday, April 13 at the Round Up Steakhouse from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thank you for bringing this to our air waves.

  • Jeanette Exner says:

Let’s face it: The ONLY people who are publicizing RFK Jr. are Trump supporters who hope Kennedy will weaken support for Biden. It’s not going to work.

    • Toscano says:

You are right, Jeanette, it is not going to work … unless the Deep State Dominion machines are thrown away. The fix is in, the propaganda arm of the DNC — the MSM — won’t touch it, of course, and neither will the cowardly GOP leadership.

  • Smurf says:

2 different dates are listed. March 28 & April 4. Which date will Kennedy be on?

  • Akdale says:

yay another liberal who supports murdering babies in the womb on the air. why bother, Trump will win Ak FWIW. Bad idea Bob. seems like a self serving way to boost your ratings.

  • Rick Wyatt says:

rfk’s vice president running mate is a Soros involved jerk.

  • Friend of Humanity says:

RFK Jr seems to be running on an agenda that is not good for humanity and he picked a VP that is associated with dark money. Mr Bird, thank you for your interest in interviewing RFK Jr, but NO THANK YOU on this candidate. He is a puppet to make it look like we have options.

  • Jon and Ruth Ewig says:

We are opposed to RFK Jr. because when he was interviewed by Charlie Kirk, he was in favor of abortion, he believes the Global Warming myth, and had other typically liberal ideas, not leftist but liberal. We are not going by his handsomeness, or that he is right to expose the leftists. He believes in America but his worldview is not Biblical like Donald Trump’s worldview. Pastor John Randall of Calvary OC did an interview of Charlie Kirk on “Freedom Night.” Charlie Kirk has been organizing an army of believers and training ministers through Counterpoint USA. He has poll watchers in all of the states where votes could flip toward Donald Trump. His interview was revealing. He noted that modern day seminaries are not teaching a Biblical Worldview to the pastors who graduate from them. In the documentary “Message to the American Church” much has been revealed about the current state of the churches.. This documentary needs to be viewed by every Christian. Eric Metaxas wrote the book and introduces the documentary. Within the documentary it is stated that 60% of pastors have a Biblical Worldview. This means that they preach the inerrant Word of the Judeo Christian Bible. Charlie KIrk said that if we vote Democrat we are not Christians. The two platforms are decidedly opposite: Republican platform: 1. God created one man and one woman, 2. Every person born and unborn is valuable and has a Right to life. (3) The church IS essential. Democratic platform: (1) multiple genders, choose your gender, (2) celebrates abortion, and (3) the church is nonessential. If the party platform changed we would change. Charley Kirk further stated that all of the ministries need to take a look at the full spectrum of what is going on in the culture, keeping Scripture as the core It is a heresy to say that Christians cannot discuss politics and address the false teachings in the country from the pulpit. See God’s instructions in Jeremiah 29:7 He has not heard of a church that discussed politics to excess. Tthe ministers’ instructions are laid out in Leviticus and Titus. The church maintains the moral center of the communities and the government. The Constitution needs to be restored. We need to be registering our voters. Our vote is the transfer of power from you to the governing bodies. Liberty Counsel provides a printout of what ministers and churches can and cannot do legally. Churches can have a much more powerful influence in our communities….While a minister cannot tell the church how to vote, he can tell his flock how he is going to vote….You do not relinquish your rights at the entrance of the church. You do not need to get the feeling that you are doing wrong by discussing the things happening in the church with each other or by registering Christians to vote. We have now formed Moms for Liberty North Star Borough to reveal what is going on in the government schools and to urge people to vote and figure out the worldview of the candidates who will represent you in government decision-making. Pray for honest elections and that the Christians will engage in elections. Pray that the Constitution will be restored.

    • Akdale says:

you are correct. its been going on for a long time. the decline in culture can be tied to the lack of accountability in the church. starting with Clergy. Repentance is sidelined, not defined well and forgivness is also not defined Biblically. this lack of consequence, lack of integrity, lack of accountability has caused a major decline in the Churches credibility in our culture. As a result, culture ignores the church as a guide. Much the same way children ignore hypocritical parents. Until that changes we lose. Government and laws wont change things, only honest reflection and Repentance changes our hearts as Gods Holy Spirit works it out in us. Pastors need to step up and own the failure. Saints need to confront them on it. Quit making excuses, quit ignoring the signs of sin, quit protecting men and women who lead. Paul set the tone, follow it. Realize, in the church there is no “annionted” one. Christ is all in all and equality in Christ is just that. Humility does not mean keeping quiet.
