My family and I, as well as a community of local Catholics and evangelicals, have opposed the Soldotna Pride March since its origin in 2018 (as the Two-Spirit March) as well as the Soldotna Pride in the Park event since its origin in 2019. These paired, back-to-back, complementary events occur on the same day in June each year.
Each of the past two years the Pride March had 300 to 350 marchers. Some claim that many of these marchers were bused in from greater Anchorage. This year the number of marchers fell precipitously to only 90. Also, the Pride in the Park event, held at Soldotna Creek Park, covered but a third of the park area it normally occupies. In previous year’s, event protesters had to use the lower overflow parking lot before setting up near the park entrance. This year there was a surplus of available parking in the very front of the park. Thus, by every metric attendance and support for these two events was dramatically down.
The “Pride” movement of the central Kenai Peninsula has never been a local, organically grown movement, but one orchestrated and funded by national and state operatives…
Speaking with various local officials, I have always contended these local “Pride” events were not organic, locally derived events, but rather events that are foisted upon historically “red” areas of Alaska as part of a larger national strategy to establish liberal beachheads in traditionally strong conservative-majority areas.
The Kenaitze Indian Tribe, an Alaska Native Democratic pawn, initially was more than happy to further any liberal cause their Democratic masters proposed as long as there were monies attached to such efforts. But their support of the event was short-lived after they perceived a significant loss of local goodwill when they took a public role in advocating for controversial gay/transgender ideologies.
With the loss of public support from the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, Democratic operatives had to search for a new local receptacle for federal monies to continue facilitating furtherance of the gay/transgender cause on the central Kenai Peninsula. They found it in Bridges Community Resource Network Inc., and a bit later, also in Identity Inc. of Anchorage.
The bottom line: the organized and concerted “Pride” movement of the central Kenai Peninsula has never been a local, organically grown movement, but one orchestrated and funded by national and state operatives tied to the liberal Democratic Party machine.

During the Biden administration the gay/transgender ideology movement was flush with federal monies, financing and facilitating Pride events and attendance on central Kenai Peninsula. Under the new Trump Administration those formerly abundant monies are rapidly drying up and thus local “Pride” events are visibly starting to wither on the vine.
Of course, what has happened on the central Kenai Peninsula is not necessarily reflective of what is going on in the larger and substantially more liberal city of Anchorage where local government and a plethora of liberal private businesses will likely step in and attempt to bridge the gap in lost federal monies.
Regardless, without monies subsidizing events and attendance the “Pride” movement of the central Kenai Peninsula is on life support. We must continue to actively oppose funding and any type of government or commercial support for these Satanic “Pride” events and directly oppose them wherever and whenever they occur.

Burke. You are the worst kind of Christian hypocrite. At your church, I presume you teach the helpful passages of the bible but then publicly dismiss them with intolerance, challenges to liberty, freedom and evidence; cruelty, division and hate. That’s partially why locals dislike your methods.

I personally have zero interest in who you bed down or love. Zero. Freedom for all as long as no one is being victimized. What I will fight against is the sexualization and predation of children. That I will stand up against. If that makes me a worst kind of Christian, then I know I’m in a good place. .

Good Dat Mr. Burke, I’ll say upfront I was not and never will be in favor of public monies being spent on any part of the Pride movement and its activities. That being said, I resent your labeling the entire Kenaitze tribe as a “pawn ” of the Democratic party. That is too broad a brush. Let me ask you this, how do you feel about the funds being cut to the KPB’s food banks, the Meals on Wheels program, and the Head Start school program? How do you feel about millions of dollars being keep from the US programs they were meant to serve? That is a story many Alaskans would like to hear.
I agree with the first part. Fed funds should not be spent on individual groups. This includes food banks. Charity is not a valid role of government as it favors one individual over another and it must take from one to give to another.
