In an effort to strengthen, support and celebrate traditional family values, a coalition of local churches, faith-based ministries, area nonprofits and businesses helped put on the 4th Annual Family Fun Day at Soldotna Creek Park.
These groups were on hand for the June 28 gathering as attendees played games, listened to live music and celebrated the goodness of strong family connections.
The popular event was organized by South Central Parenting, a pro-life nonprofit that aims to build a strong foundation for families on the Kenai Peninsula by providing parenting resources.
The day included games, food and entertainment for the whole family.

Towards the end of the event, a separate group of local pro-life advocates held a rally at the Soldotna “Y” intersection to hold signs and remind fellow citizens to contact U.S. Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan to urge them to defund Planned Parenthood of their $800 million in annual taxpayer funding.
Planned Parenthood is, in many ways, the antithesis to the family day celebration. The abortion giant kills more than 400,000 unborn babies annually, peddles cross-sex hormones to gender-confused youth, and undermines parental rights by pushing sexually explicit materials into classrooms and influencing curriculum through their so-called “comprehensive” graphic sex-ed programs.

Christians are always shoving their religion in our faces.
No one is shoving anything at you, but they are sharing truth. . Promoting family, hope, and life at a gathering, is inviting, not forcing. Perhaps your anger or hatred of God makes you think ‘shoving’. I know because I was there. Then God opened my eyes. The evil you are blindly following is a lie.
Isaiah 5:20. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.
Romans 5:8 God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
All of us, including you. 🙂
Henry, I used those words because they are exactly the same ones Christians use to demonize and spread hate against the queer community. “Why can’t homosexuals keep to themselves?”
But the queer folks don’t hate families, don’t hate religion or music or a gathering of folks presenting their beliefs. You could do that too.
Amen
Those Christian’s who you hate so much. We are just pointing out your sinfulness
Cool!
We need to do this in Anchorage. It would only take maybe 5 Catholic and/or Christian families to make a parade.
that’s funny!

This is very refreshing. Thank you South Central Parenting for promoting positive parenting activities.
