The flood of Alaskans filing to become the next governor is continuing to pour into the Alaska Division of Elections, while many Democrat and left-leaning Republican legislators are still running unopposed.
The filing deadline is 5 p.m., tonight, June 1.
As of the morning of June 1, 11 candidates have officially filed for governor, along with their lieutenant governor running mates.
Several bigger names, such as former Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor and current Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom, have yet to finalize their candidacy with the state. They have a few hours left to complete the process.
Over the past week, several candidates have announced running mates. Below is the current list of gubernatorial candidates and their lieutenant governor running mates.

While the governor’s race has generated intense interest, many longtime Democrats, along with left-leaning Republicans, are running unopposed.
