Mayor Ethan Berkowitz’s employees are using public resources to promote all things LGBTQ. The municipality’s departmental Facebook pages are now being politically mobilized to stir up support for radical LGBTQ ideologies.
Anchorage is exploiting municipality social media sites to push radical LGBT political ideology.
Last week, a municipal employee got the green light to use the Health Department’s Facebook page to solicit responses to the question: “What does Pride mean to you?”
Residents are asked to text their answers to (907) 830-7368, and if you send your address, the municipality will mail out a “free swag bag” while supplies last.

For those still wondering what “Pride” means to municipal bureaucrats, they enthusiastically proclaim: “A celebration of Anchorage’s diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) community, which encompass all races and ethnicities.”
Earlier this month, another Berkowitz employee was allowed to speak for the entire police force. The department’s Facebook page was exploited to push alternative sexuality by stating: “Equality, hope, acceptance, love, understanding, progress, liberty for all. These are the things we take extra time to celebrate for Pride Month.”
The Anchorage Pride festivities were cancelled, but the municipality’s Facebook pages are a way to give an online boost to the LGBT agenda.
The June 15 post went on to praise the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision that that redefines “sex” to include “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” when determining sex discrimination in the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Many conservatives believe the decision is a classic case of judicial activism which could have dire consequences for faith-based businesses and churches that affirm there is only two sexes.
“From the Stonewall uprising to today’s Supreme Court Ruling, it’s important to remember how far we have come, and that there is still much more to be done,” the police Facebook page states. “This means more conversations, more listening, more ownership of our roles in the positive change. As police officers, it’s our responsibility to know the history, to be an active part of the change, to promote a culture of acceptance and equality, and to honor what our community expects of us … We support you, and we celebrate alongside you!”

“Though Anchorage Pride got postponed out of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19, there are still many ways to support, connect, learn, and celebrate with your local LGBTQIA+ community,” the police Facebook page exclaims. It then links to the gay activist group Identity Alaska, which provides drag queen performers for children at the Loussac Library.
The health departments Facebook post ends by affirming that Pride Fest is “much more than a single festival.”
While mayor’s administrative apparatus plugs LGBTQ Pride, the Anchorage Assembly is gearing up to pass an ordinance that would outlaw any Anchorage counselor, therapist, psychologist or health care provider from helping a minor work through unwanted same-sex attraction. It also prohibits counseling that helps a person reconcile and identify with their actual biological sex. Anyone found in violation of the proposed law would be subject to a daily fine of $500. A public hearing on the proposal is set for July 28.
