Anchorage is at a crossroads. Do we take the path of government control over our daily lives and businesses, or do we assert control over ourselves? To me the answer is obvious – it may be to you as well. But some of our neighbors are okay with outside influences and values that I believe are un-Alaskan.

We are an independent people. Many of us carry the “live and let live” mentality. Don’t tell me when and if I can attend church, what events or stores I can visit, or whether I can carry a weapon on my person.

Anchorage has had taste of big-government control at the hands of the Anchorage Assembly and Mayor’s Office this past year.

The only person equipped to take back our city – one who carries our values – is Dave Bronson. He’s a leader. He’s honorable and he has a stellar reputation.

I’ve watched Dave interact with members of our community. His conversations have been encouraging, thoughtful and he’s always listening for solutions to problems. He knows our small businesses have suffered immensely and that this must end.

He’s also aware that most Anchorage residents want to solve our vagrancy issues and help those who truly need assistance. Addiction and mental illness have stolen the minds of some, and we must have a process that encourages a healthier lifestyle. Dave has a plan.

April 6 will tell us which path Anchorage residents have chosen. Will we reassert our conservative values or will we let the outsiders take over? Vote for Dave Bronson and tell your friends to vote for him too. Let’s make sure we’re on the right path.
