Keep Dunleavy pic

Rep. David Eastman (R-Wasilla) has called on Gov. Mike Dunleavy to use the full power of his office to defend Alaskans who are under assault for declining to take experimental COVID shots.

In strongly worded Sept. 14 letter, Eastman said Alaskans are being shamed, scapegoated and coerced into submitting to a government vaccine program. The pressure is coming from both the White House as well as local entities, he noted.

“As part of this campaign, many Alaskans are now under threat of losing their livelihood, and some families have already been forced to leave our state,” Eastman said. “I am now seeing queries from families who have found jobs and are in the process of moving to Alaska, but are wavering in that conviction due to our failure to safeguard these rights.”

Eastman urged Dunleavy to expand the scope and purpose of the next legislative special session, which begins Oct. 1, so that the Legislature can address these “assaults on the rights of Alaskans.”

Eastman raised concern about doctors who are being prevented from prescribing life-saving drugs for patients due to federal interference.

“For the sake of those who are now being threatened with the loss of their livelihoods and their ability to continue to live here in Alaska, we must address these concerns immediately,” Eastman said. “As Governor of Alaska, you are the one person constitutionally responsible for the faithful execution of our state laws. For more than four decades, our laws have made it a crime, under AS 11.76.110, to interfere with an Alaskan’s constitutional rights. Under current state law, it is a crime to ‘oppress, threaten, or intimidate another person because that person has exercised or enjoyed a right, privilege, or immunity in fact granted by the constitution or laws of this state.’”

Eastman asked the governor to direct Attorney General Treg Taylor to “promptly investigate any allegations of such crimes and, if appropriate, to prosecute them in accordance with state law.”

He also noted that the governor is commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the state, and has responsibility over the Army and Air National Guard soldiers stationed in Alaska, many of whom have expressed grave concerns about vaccine mandates.

Who knows — perhaps it was for a time like this that you became governor?”

“As governor, you are responsible for the morale, safety and well-being of the guard personnel under your command,” Eastman observed. “Please make it unmistakably clear that no member of your command will be sanctioned, oppressed, threatened or intimidated for failure to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. As members of our state armed forces, their welfare is in your hands.”

Additionally, Eastman raised concern about doctors who are being prevented from prescribing certain life-saving drugs for their patients due to federal interference.

“This is leading some Alaskans to look out of state for the medicines they need. Doctors in Alaska should be able to prescribe the very best medications and therapies for their patients, not have to consider whether the medicine they are about to prescribe is on a ‘politically correct’ list,” Eastman wrote. “Equally troubling are reports that Alaskans in some communities are now being told that if they cannot prove they were vaccinated they may be denied treatment in their local emergency room in their time of need.”

Eastman letter goes on to question the way the state has conducted its COVID informational campaigns.

“I have not held back in sharing my concern that the state’s marketing of the vaccines has been designed, not to inform Alaskans about the risks and benefits of vaccination, but simply to extol the virtues of being vaccinated,” he said. “This, especially when combined with the censorship of information from other sources, leads me to question whether many Alaskans are actually informed when deciding whether or not to receive the vaccine.”

The letter ends by acknowledging that the governor may not benefit politically in standing up to defend Alaskans against COVID mandates.

“The battle to protect the rights of the individual citizen holds no guarantee of reelection for those of us who stand on the front lines of that fight against all-comers,” Eastman concludes. “No guarantee. Who knows — perhaps it was for a time like this that you became governor?”

Eastman, thank you! Its an incredibly bad thing when some members of the legislature turn against citizens by voting to not protect them but maybe this Governor can protect those of us who do not want to be jabbed, if it comes down to it I’m prepared to live in a tent in the woods to avoid a toxic substance from being shoved down my throat. I wont have it, and I’m grateful for folks like Eastman, this is leadership, this is taking care of people and I wont forget it.

  • JC says:

Thank you for standing up for us Representative Eastman.
You are absolutely doing the right thing. Now Governor Dunleavy, please do the right thing as well.

It will affect people’s decisions about choosing to remain in or come to Alaska if they cannot be assured of some protections.

If the government is able to have you undergo a forced medical procedure, we should soberly consider what’s next.

  • G Aleution says:

They have taken an oath to DEFEND the US Constitution and secure the people’s rights. Acting in our own conscience is one of those rights. Right to travel, locomotion is one of our earliest rights. Please take this letter to heart. Thank you.

  • Burt says:

Hell the SOA, DHSS, and the defacto Chief Executive of the State Dr. Zink are doing most of the coercing, bullying and arm twisting to push everyone to get this Genocide Shot. I am sure the State OSHA agency AKOSH will be all about enforcing Dear Leader’s Mandates.

  • Patrick Dalton says:

So many good points. Representative Eastman is a great statesman with vision. This is exactly what we need now, and we better encourage Governor Dunleavy to act Immediately. I know people under this coercion, and also people who have had catastrophic debilitating side affects from the injection. Yes, there are people who have been devastated by these shots. If they were really interested in protecting from the effects of this virus, there would be natural immunity exemptions. Natural immunity proven to be far superior.

  • Steve Peterson says:

Dunleavy defers to Zink. He needs to find someone who is not an disciple of Fauci and who considers ALL the possible options for treatment of COVID.

    • NP Adam says:

That’s it. We need a second opinion. Our school board in Fairbanks claimed that they’re not taking direction from the CDC, but that they’re taking direction from local medical authorities, that are taking direction from the CDC. What’s the difference?

    • Fred Lee says:

Yes it would be great to replace a sober, reasonable person with someone who recommends horse dewormers as a viable treatment option.

  • G Aleution says:

It’s a career track. Unfortunately, in the medical industries the US Constitution and its relation to government emoluments probably never appears so much as on a scattershot, random graph in that line of study and indoctrination. So they are hardly champions of Constitutional rights. They kind of go “huh”?

  • Proud Alaskan says:

If you vaccinated people are so Afraid stay home.
Let myself and others live are life’s as we see fit.
Wait did you not know, if your vaccinated you can still get COVID and yes you can still give it to others.
    Sheep stay home.

  • Ceak says:

Dr. Zink needs to go. She’s a mini Fauci and Alaska doesn’t need that.

  • DoneWithIt says:

    Dunleavy won’t do anything.
He’s a bush, romney, mccain RINO.
    A Squish.
    Blahblahblah.
    No action.
    No PFD.
    No protection from the vaxxers.
No protection from the Feds turning Alaska into one big state park.
    Blahblahblah…

  • Larson says:

    Thank you Eastman.
Its time to stand up Dunleavy.
    Freedom to choose

  • Richard says:

Well written David. If I understand your reference to Esther then I would think Fauci and his mini clone Zink would be the collective Haman?

  • Sally Pollen says:

Thank you, again and again, Alaska Watchman, David Eastman and a few others who speak and write for reason and freedom in this state. Yes, Governor Dunleavy, its your time to act. Please use your elected position to maintain and reinforce the legal right of Alaskans to choose for themselves.

  • Brad says:

Great letter, David. Its is a sad state of affairs when something effecting the health of all citizens has been morphed into a political football game. Politicians across the country are reconfiguring the cattle gates in an attempt to get everyone to comply or face the consequences. Florida was just “punished” for nixing mask and vaccine mandates by having their monoclonal antibody shipment (controlled by Uncle Mumbles and the feds) cut in half. Now, apparently, government has assumed the role of giving its subjects the Thumbs Up or, the Thumbs Down as it pertains to them (us) living or dying.

  • Theresa says:

    Thank you, Mr. Eastman!

Perhaps you’d like to gather signatures in support of your letter? I’d sign it.

Until then, let’s all write to Dunleavy expressing our support for Mr. Eastman’s letter!

“They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts. Their consciences confirm this. Their competing thoughts will either accuse or excuse them on the day when God judges what God has kept secret, according to the gospel through Christ Jesus.” Romans 2:15-16

I will not violate my conscience regardless of what the world dictates. I have tested my competing thoughts. I have assessed my them and determined my actions to be right. No one but God Almighty has the authority to accuse or excuse me. Unvaccinated for CoVID does not equal “anti-vaccine” and it does not equal SICK!

Whether politicians advocate for me or not I will persevere. Whether I am excommunicated from society or not I will persevere. I will bear the consequences of my decisions where ever they lead. I will not fear creation, man, disease, or becoming a pariah.

  • Mboll says:

Dave Eastman a true statesman. I’m glad I voted for him even when there was so much hate out there geared towards him during elections.

Wonderful letter by Rep Eastman! Very proud and grateful he’s standing with Alaskans on this vital, constitutional matter of bodily sovereignty.
