The Fairbanks School Board, now firmly controlled by hard-leftist members, is set to vote on a resolution that would call on all local schools to officially celebrate and actively promote LGBTQ History Month throughout all of October.
Introduced by School Board President Bobby Burgess, the resolution is listed on the school board’s meeting agenda for Sept. 15. It specifically states that “numerous individuals in the LGBTQ community, globally, nationally, and locally have made substantial contributions and accomplishments in our community,” and claims that the “LGBTQ community is an asset to the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District.”
The resolution emphasizes that the school district intentionally strives to foster LGBTQ History Month celebrations by “allowing students to acknowledge the history, culture and contributions of LGBTQ individuals, role models, and historical events from across the country and community.”
It adds that the Fairbanks School District “serves as a role model for inclusion, equity, protection, and representation for all of its students, staff members, and diverse communities,” and states that the board aims to recognize October as LGBTQ History Month as a way to encourage “schools throughout the district to promote a community where all students and staff are supported and affirmed.”
Nationally, this month-long celebration of sexual identities and orientations is organized by a group called Equality Forum. The goal is to highlight the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender “icons.”

“Each day in October, a new LGBT Icon is featured with a video, bio, bibliography, downloadable images and other resources,” the Equality Forum website explains.
The initiative began in 1994, when Rodney Wilson, a Missouri high school teacher, thought it would be a good idea to set aside an entire school month to promote gay and lesbian history. Organizers specifically selected October because summer vacation was over and public schools were in session. This was seen as a prime opportunity to expose children to this ideology.
“The LGBT community is the only community worldwide that is not taught its history at home, in public schools or in religious institutions,” the Equality Forum website explains.
In addition to promoting various sexual preferences, identities and orientations next month, the school board is set to vote on a separate resolution aimed at encouraging parents and children to increase student attendance rates in October.

We need to have a Fidelity/Nuclear Family, or Strong Families Month. A mayor in Texas is leading in this direction. This is God’s perfect design for humanity. Other governors celebrating the Nuclear family are Indiana, Alabama, Utah, Arkansas, and Tennessee. There needs to be recognition given to those who have earned benefits and awards in the context of staying in the Nuclear Family and the strength and stabllty for the U.S. having applied the traditional family values including and most important Knowing the JJudeo-Christian God.
Can someone please explain how a person’s preference for sexual perversion makes them an object of worship to these sad folks? Isn’t it possible that they did something excellent by just being a person, and that their sexual perversion had very little to do with their accomplishment? Why do we celebrate their brokenness rather than, you know, just their personhood? What is the point of admiring their sins and misery? Or is it just something all the cool kids are into these days? Hideous. God loves them in spite of their poor choices. Maybe that should be the focus of others’ admiration.
I wonder how you define sexual perversion Tamra. Wanna give it a try? How about a list of sexual acts that you deem NOT perverted? Certainly any homosexual activities would be on your perversion list, but how about heterosexual oral sex, or differences in age, or the use of sex toys? Here’s your chance to draw some lines and not duck behind euphemisms (like nearly everyone does on this subject). I know it’s uncomfortable and weird to talk about cuz sex is uncomfortable and weird.
And the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) wonders why their student enrollment is decreasing and home schooling is more prevalent. The net loss of students (2025/2026) brings the FNSB district’s enrollment down to about 11,382, compared to 11,971 in the 2024-2025 academic year. It is even a bigger loss when it is compared to the 2023/2024 academic year when the enrollment was 12,541 (-1,159). Go woke, go broke.

If I may, I believe what has been said is simply this. Leave the LGBT at home, we all have free will to do what we want. If you choose to use your God given free will to participate in such practices its consequences are on you. What we do behind closed doors is between us and God. This life choice is NOT relevant to the actual charter of a public educational facility. It has zero place there unless you can prove that such teachings provide students with an Academic advantage. One which can help them achieve a career with a measurable level of success and financial freedom. One thing for certain, rainbows and unicorns are not going to protect this country. For those of you caught up in this, no judgement from me but this is a CIA pysop. It’s well known as a satanic practice, it’s about the transsexual demon. Personally I would pull my kids from school as well. No question someone is getting paid to push this. My guess is the usual suspects, George Soros and accomplices are funding this push.
Why to all these segregated organization get a month of celebration and the veterans only get one day?
Sexual ideology should NOT be pushed in the school system. This is part of why people are withdrawing their children. As I see it, this is nothing but pornography being shoved onto children in the name of “equity and inclusion”. My kid doesn’t need to know whether some historical figure liked having sex with his/her gender or anyone’s sexual preferences…..it has literally nothing to do with what we send our children to school for. This is just grooming of children on the taxpayer dime and it used to be that anyone who discussed sexual matters with children was arrested for pedophilia, now it is somehow considered acceptable????
Maybe there’s a sex ed curriculum you approve of. Would that be ok to teach?

What’s so spooky and terrifying about sex that only a parent should teach it? What about parents who are as scared of teaching sex as you are and never provide that education? I never got it from my parents and they were both very educated professionals.
People become teachers because they know stuff and they know HOW to teach. As citizens, we’re fortunate to have their expertise available.
