Pro-abortion U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski is “very concerned” that an ongoing Food and Drug Administration review of the chemical abortion drug mifepristone might result in women needing to see a doctor in-person before ingesting the powerful drug that kills preborn babies.
Murkowski aired her concerns during a Sept. 24 confirmation hearing for President Trump’s nominee to lead the FDA – Heidi Overton.
Murkowski is a member of the U.S. Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, and her comments to Overton came amid the FDA’s ongoing review of mifepristone’s safety rules.
Mifepristone is a highly potent drug that is primarily used to kill a preborn baby up to 70 days gestation. It is now utilized in more than half of all Alaska abortions, causing the nourishing placenta to detach from the mother’s uterine wall, and thereby starving the developing child. A second drug (misoprostol) is given two days later to force contractions and expel the dead body from the mother’s womb. This method often results in women aborting their babies at home or in the workplace, and up to five days after ingesting the drugs. It also comes with serious and well-documented medical side effects, including prolonged, severe bleeding and life-threatening systemic infection.

In 2021, Biden’s FDA decided to make the chemical abortion drug easily available by simply ignoring longstanding federal standards such as requiring that doctors conduct a full medical examination of women before allowing them to ingest the drug. It is now available by mail and at pharmacies across America.
Murkowski sidestepped these concerns and claimed that rural Alaskans would be in a “very challenging position” if the FDA reinstituted the requirement that doctors meet with women in-person before distributing mifepristone.
Calling the drug “safe and effective,” Murkowski expressed grave misgivings about the decision to merely review the drug’s safety rules.

Context counts in such conversations. Try considering it from the purpose of the medication, in that regard it is “safe and effective”, minimal side effects compared to other options, and a high success rate. Similarly consider an AR-15, it’s purpose is to kill, and in that regard it is “safe and effective”, effective downrange, and a low chance of injuring the operator.
May not like the outcome, purpose, or intent, but it doesn’t invalidate something’s effectiveness when you consider it’s intended purpose.
During their confirmation hearings, Trump’s three Supreme Court nominations swore up and down about how Roe v. Wade was “precedent,” “settled law,” blah blah blah ….. and THEN as soon as they had the opportunity, they overturned it. And now women in red states have lost a huge measure of their self-determination in a way that men have NO frame of reference for. After all, there have never been any laws passed affecting MENS’ reproductive choices. And even women who personally would never choose to have an abortion are just a bit ticked off.

The Abortion Queen of the US Senate should be excommunicated from the Catholic Church!! I have never known anyone or heard of anyone that so hates the thought of any women having babies or even Native women having babies. It should be the absolutely right thing to do and every catholic and every person who despises the prospect of killing an infant or unborn child should stand strong with this purpose. Women should have the right to take care of their own bodies. If you want abortions stopped then jail the man for the 9 months of the -pregnancy, then make him pay for the upbringing of the child through a college education.

It saddens me to hear of Murkowski pushing so hard for women to get abortions. Many times, pro-abortionists are products of a lack of teaching. I have met countless women who have been fed lies their entire lives about life, self-respect, and the joy that children bring to the world. With Murkowski, that is not true. She knows better.
