This fall, voters will choose three members for the Juneau Assembly and two for the School Board.

Those interested in running have until 4:30 p.m. today (July 27) to file for office. The terms are for three years.

As of July 27, at 10 a.m., only three candidates had filed for Assembly. One person has filed for the areawide seat, two candidates filed for District 1 and no one has filed for the District 2 seat. For the two open School Board seats, only three candidates have filed so far.

HOW TO FILE

  • Submit a Declaration of Candidacy Form with a Nomination Petition signed by at least 25 registered voters (more signatures are recommended in case one or more signature is disqualified).
  • Submit a printed signed copy of your Alaska Public Offices Commission Public Official Financial Disclosure (APOC POFD) form.
  • Find the Nomination Petition forms hereand go to the Alaska Public Offices Commission website to complete the APOC POFD forms electronically.

Deadline is today (4:30 p.m.) to file for Juneau Assembly & School Board seats
