The Left long ago ran out of intellectual ammo, but it was seldom more obvious than in their latest phony sanctimony.
In a long and continuous parade, Rep. David Eastman has been subjected to vicious attacks and demonizations that would be laughable except that the Left truly believes their own propaganda, and think that most others do, too. This happens because the Left has the mainstream media blare horns – and censors – on their side.
We should not be surprised, then, to see the irony in the open letter published by 70 West Point graduates in the Mat-Su Frontiersman. It appears to be led by a man with the constitutional understanding of a junior high schooler, and says reams about the vetting process and constitutional curriculum going on at West Point in recent years. Congressman Mike Waltz, a decorated Green Beret veteran and Pentagon advisor, has scored the Point for teaching CRT. I wonder if they want him to resign, too? Place your bets.
These men apparently believe that anything the Leftist-mainstream-Marxist-Democratic Party says must therefore be true. Thus, Eastman’s membership in Oath Keepers, a demonized organization, shamelessly and falsely discredited like Nick Sandmann and Kyle Rittenhouse were by the mainstream press, must be accurate. In their minds, there is certitude in any published statement told to us by the New York Times or the Washington Post, even though they have been wrong far more often than Alex Jones. Yet, these mental midgets cannot see the irony of criticizing Eastman for belonging to Oath Keepers … while they score him for failing to keep his oath!
And for what, exactly, is the oath taken? They are confusing loyalty to the government as the same thing as loyalty to the Constitution. These are two different things. When in the Army, a soldier voluntarily surrenders his own will and thoughts to become a willing tool of military orders, under the ultimate authority of the executive branch. But even the armed forces recognize immoral orders, which are not to be obeyed.
While Eastman is no longer in the military, the Oath Keepers organization understands that the oath does not end there. It would appear, however, that his critics do not like Eastman to think for himself. He is now a member of the Alaska State Legislature which enjoys immunities from any speech uttered while on the floor, and except for felonies or breach of the peace, cannot be arrested. These immunities were granted for a reason: how else are our elected servants going to root out espionage, bureaucratic overreach, corruption, graft, domestic enemies or unconstitutional actions, unless they open their mouths to investigate and persuade not only their colleagues, but also the citizenry?

According to these West Pointers, the government must always be obeyed and never criticized, even as an elected civilian. It would appear that they are not teaching American History at The Point. The sordid Sedition Act of 1798, enacted just a few years after the Bill of Rights, would have brought these same alumni down hard on Eastman for criticizing President John Adams, for whom the Sedition Act was specially concocted, and all in the name of “national security.”
And look at what is happening, right now, in the military. It is driving out religiously and morally inclined personnel – those who can think for themselves regarding experimental jabs and the inherent dangers that are being suppressed. We have already seen where lawyers in Michigan, under its communist-feminist governor and cabinet, threatens to disbar them if they investigate or entertain a lawsuit that questions the integrity of the 2020 election!
Tyranny cannot stand dissent. Tyrants act like third graders, who plug their ears and talk loudly so that they cannot hear their critics. It’s just an opinion, but someone needs to please check the red diapers of these vaunted 70 West Pointers.

We are in a culture war. The efforts against Representative Eastman are just the latest battle in this ongoing war. The representative needs to stand strong against this attack. Do not blink, do not falter, hold the line and never apologize. Our country is divided now like no time except during the civil and revolutionary wars. There will be a winner of this culture war and it must be patriotic conservative Americans, that respect the flag, the rule of law and the constitution. The radical left must not not win.

Yep…..Our oath we took is to the constitution. NOT to the government. Illegal orders against the Constitution are not to be followed. PERIOD.
I stand with Eastman 100%. I am also an Academy graduate but from USAFA. I remember that oath I took on numerous occasions. It is an oath to the US Constitution not any cretin who thinks the military and other government types pledge to serve the government. We swear to support and defend the Constitution against ALL enemies foreign and domestic! Go David!
Rep Eastman has stayed true to what he ran on, good principles all of them. Few representatives have done this. When you are on target you draw flack. The left attacks are a qualifying badge in my opinion.
A little off topic but Let’s be honest here. David Eastman has been torpedoed mostly by his own side who are too frightened to defend him. Eastman means it when he defends America and Americans. This puts the AK RINOs (and there are many) in a real position. If your Representative doesn’t like David or sad he is ‘toxic’ you may be represented by a coward.

Typical of the attacks on Eastman. 70 West Point grads. Golly. More who wore the uniform, gave an oath that means nothing to them and now show it. The oath does not go away with taking the uniform off. You either meant it, or you did not. In which case, good riddance. One thing is for certain, David Eastman will weather and keep moving forward. Institutions lose their standing and meaning when they have been compromised. West Point grads? So what. If you can fly a BLM flag or wear a Che Guevara t-shirt at West Point, I’d say it matters naught what a few graduates of this former esteemed college say. Clearly one man, David Eastman, took his time there seriously. And God bless him for it. Another irony is these post-modernists, leftists, communists, etc never define what is far-left. Nor do they denounce the many murders and millions in damage done in the name of Left-Wing violence. These grads just wanted to hear the sounds of their own sweet delicate voices. It is clear David Eastman meant it when he took his Oath to defend our Constitution, not our King.
One big take-away from this attack on Rep Eastman: Note that the military is a very different organization than it was decades ago. We have very different generational values in the US Military–an entitled generation mainly. And the leaders at the top are mostly political which has been the case for a very long time.
Odd then that those who signed the letter span 45 years of USMA graduates. The oldest graduate, Michael McClary ’69, served in Vietnam with the Black Horse Cav.
David Eastman is a rare glimmer of hope for integrity in a dark legislature. I’ve met and spoke with him, met his family and reviewed his votes. As a neighbor and Alaskan you get a gut feeling for people and I know David Eastman is a necessary conservative benchmark for this lost legislature. I’m saddened that left wing radicals have used a platform as West Point to launch their dishonest diatribe. God bless David Eastman, his family and the USA. David, stay the course, stay frosty.

A HATE letter was sent to Rep David Eastman, from leftist ex cadets that once attended West Point Academy, in New York, an academy that teaches critical race theory.
The letter from the ex-cadets is attacking Rep David Eastman’s character and is recommending that he resigns from his position, because he supports President Trump, and supports a group called the Oath Keepers. As a private citizen he supports this group. The Oath Keepers love America and believe in the Constitution. Same as a libertarian would.

8. Falsely blamed Antifa for the riots.

I’ll take lectures on my fidelity to the Constitution from a lot of people, but not from Bob Bird, who never served and doesn’t even want to be a citizen of the United States.

One merely needs to read Mr. Hodes’ screed (which appears to have been hastily scrawled under the influence of alcohol, caffeine, and prescription meds) to realize that The Long Gray Line occasionally allows someone to slip through the cracks with less than a full issue of intellect and common sense. Thankfully, the Army managed to right West Point’s wrong, and summarily dismissed Hodes from its roles shortly after he slid through West Point and disgraced the uniform at his first assignment.
West Point represent a cross section of America. No one person, nor small cabal represents us all and all of our views. In fact, anyone claiming to represent the Long Gray Line, is probably more representative of his high school’s the class clown or his hometown version of the village idiot. About 75,000 West Point graduates comprise “The Long Gray Line.” Please don’t judge them by the immature antics or opinions of Alix Hodes and whomever he claims to represent.
